Ameriprise is looking for a hands-on tester for Threadneedle Asset Management’s Global Transformation and Change department with experience of:
- Test analysis
- Test design
- Defect reporting and analysis
- Interacting with business and technology teams
The successful candidate will work closely with test management, project managers, business analysts and the business units to ensure the effectiveness of the testing efforts being performed focusing primarily on UAT. They will do this by ensuring they understand the key program/project testing requirements and success criteria. They will use the framework and documentation templates provided in the Columbia Threadneedle Investments test strategy to agree and follow test plans.
They will be able to analyze project documentation to quickly develop an understanding of the technology solution and will use this knowledge to be a positive contributor in project discussions.
This role will be business facing so as well as having extensive testing knowledge the tester will need an open and personable character and be able to quickly form business relationships and be expected to champion the reason for / purpose of testing in all interactions.
Job responsibilities:
Working with the test manager to support the project schedule, and resource model related to the required testing effortsReviewing requirements documentation and where appropriate providing feedback to ensure the requirements are clear and testableDevelop test cases in conjunction with business and other project teamsLeading and owning the execution of test cases to validate that all the documented requirements have been metMaintaining thorough records of all test execution results using the designated test management tool (JIRA) for project and audit purposesEnsuring defects are documented and tracked through to completion using the designated test management tool (JIRA) for project and audit purposesContributing to regular reporting on test progress, defect statistics, and defect resolution to Test ManagerActively seeking to identify and acknowledge testing issues and take appropriate corrective actions, escalating, as neededContributing to the end of phase reports detailing the test results and presenting the facts to allow the project team to make their decision to sign offActively participating in project phase end review sessionsKey Capabilities - Essentials
Bachelors / Masters degree or equivalent5-7 years of relevant testing experience working with other change and technology professionalsA good understanding of investment management data and strong experience of data testingExperience of working with a variety of test management / defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Quality Centre, ADO etc).Strong analytical skills with hands on experience of producing and following test scenarios and test cases from requirement documentation and execution of those testsAbility to work collaboratively with others. Showing a positive attitude and being actively involved in solutioning outstanding issues to achieve project and company goalsAbility to be positively assertive and diplomaticMust be a self-starter that works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a high level of self-time managementSkilled in understanding business requirements, establishing credibility and building relationshipsStrong expertise in interpreting data and provide actionable insightsAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlinesStrong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skillsStrong understanding of Asset management business, hands on experience on asset management tools and reportingAdditional Knowledge and Skills, Experience, and Training
Experience of data acquisition, data transformation, data quality checks, data presentation, Tableau and BI visualization toolsExperience of investment risk data and any investment risk systems Strong SQL skills and use of any of AWS, Snowflake, Data Bricks or SQL serverFamiliarity with Aladdin / Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) would be beneficialAbout Our Company
