Johnson Service Group is an award-winning staffing company that is looking for a Lead Quality Inspector with 2-4 years’ experience who will be preventing the escape of manufacturing defects and assuring the high level of quality that the customers. This is a Temp-Direct job in Van Nuys, CA for an Electronics company.
Salary: $25/hr DOE
Schedule: M-F 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Quality Inspector to join our team The Lead Quality Inspector will oversee and lead quality control efforts across the production process to ensure that all components meet or exceed company and industry standards. This position requires exceptional knowledge of quality control systems, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision: Lead a team of quality inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure adherence to quality standards. Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Inspection & Testing: Perform detailed inspections of electronic components at various stages of production, ensuring that all products meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional testing using precision tools and equipment. Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate documentation of inspection results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions. Prepare quality inspection reports and provide detailed feedback to production teams and management. Quality System Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO and industry-specific quality standards (e.g., IPC, J-STD, etc.). Conduct audits and internal inspections to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications. Collaboration: Work closely with the production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve production efficiency. Provide support in product design and development stages to ensure quality requirements are met from the beginning. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality inspection role, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, ideally in the electronics manufacturing industry. Be certified to and maintain IPC-A-610 certification. Be certified to and maintain IPC J-STD-001 certification with Space Addendum. Obtain certification to and maintain NASA-STD-8739.1 and NASA-STD-8739.4 Strong experience in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc. Familiarity with electronics components, their functionality, and the manufacturing processes involved. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of quality standards, processes, and methodologies. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate team members. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Familiar with quality management software (QMS) and ERP systems. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to noise and various mechanical systems.
