Job Description
Rockwell Automation is looking for a Project Lead Engineer to support the fast growth of the Life Science Business. You will have technical skills relating to the deployment of Process, Batch and Building Automation (qualified and non-qualified) Solutions.
You will need to support customers throughout the life cycle of project work. This will include providing control system architectures, detailed design, hardware and software engineering, system startup, and customer training. You have expertise in PLC coding (Studio5000), HMI development (FactoryTalkView Studio), Batch Control (FTBatch), Historian (FTHistorian), and other control system technologies. You will assign tasks, monitor performance, review results, coordinate efforts, and track hour usage on projects. We will also require leading in startup assignments.
You will report to the Engineering Team Leader.
You will work hybrid in Italy (ability to choose location: Milano, Genova, Rome)
Your Responsibilities:Lead, design, develop, and deliver Rockwell Automation PlantPAx DCS solutions.Design, implementation, and testing of control system software including control modules, equipment modules, equipment phases, graphics, alarms, safety interlocks, etc.Generating detailed design documents and qualification documents.Ensure that systems and associated documents are designed in compliance with all relevant standards.Coordinate efforts for resources from the Global Engineering organization.The Essentials - You Will Have:Languages: Native speaker Italian, fluent English.Legal authorization to work in Italy.Experience with direct customer contact on a technical basis.Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Chemical Engineering.3+ years of experience designing and implementing PLC-based batch process control systems or Building Automation Systems (qualified and non-qualified) in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Industry.3+ years of experience of control system applications throughout the project lifecycle from initial design concepts through to installation and subsequent client support.Understanding of Electrical schematics and P&IDs.Familiarity with regulatory aspects of the pharmaceutical industry is required, including GMP's and 21 CFR Part 11, as well as Data Integrity aspects. This familiarity should particularly involve the related implementation guidelines, such as GAMP5, with a specific focus on automation systems and solutions.Experience using either FTHistorian, MS SQL Server or Oracle database systems.Experience with interfacing information systems to the factory automation layer through data historians, OPC servers, or other mechanisms.Experience preparing design and test specifications.Solid experience in the Rockwell Automation portfolio of products such as Studio5000 & FactoryTalk Software, especially FTView SE.Willing to travel an average of about 40% of the time, including both domestic and international trips (Europe).The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Expertise in Process Automation, with advanced competency in the interpretation and engineering of P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) systems.Basic Networking knowledge.Knowledge about drives.Further education in engineering, computer science or project management.Control System Architecture Design (Client Server), including Virtual Client Server design experience.What We Offer:Our benefits package includes …
