We are looking for a talented and curious technical writer who is passionate about creating compelling content that helps our developer users succeed.As a programmer writer at Guidewire, you will use your ability to grasp technical concepts and convert developer-speak into content that speaks to the user. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to create clear, accurate, and engaging content enables developers to build, extend, and integrate with our products.

Key Responsibilities
Partner with developers, product managers, and UX designers to understand how our products work and what our users need.
Create developer documentation, including API references, SDK guides, cross-product solutions, and use-case-driven tutorials.
Plan, design, and organize content for our cloud and AI platforms and services.
Own the end-to-end content lifecycle — from research and authoring to continuous improvement based on feedback and analytics.
Use Git-based workflows and automation tools to manage content efficiently and consistently.
Participate in initiatives to improve our overall information experience and make our content more discoverable, useful, and impactful.
Experiment with AI-assisted authoring tools and emerging documentation technologies to boost productivity and quality.
Required Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience creating content for enterprise software or developer tools.
Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and accurately.
Experience documenting APIs (preferably REST APIs) and writing code samples and tutorials.
Familiarity with web applications, cloud platforms, and AI concepts.
Strong understanding of technical communication best practices, topic-based authoring, and structured content.
Ability to learn independently — by reading code, experimenting, and talking with engineers.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI, Git Markdown, DITA, or XML.
Background in creating developer-first content such as quickstarts, walkthroughs, use-case-driven tutorials, and end-to-end solution guides.
Familiarity with Agile development and iterative content delivery.
Ability to create or contribute to videos, demos, and interactive tutorials.
