The **Lead Product Owner – Quality Assurance** will be responsible for defining and executing the product vision for IT Quality Assurance, ensuring alignment between QA automation strategies, IT teams, and business objectives. This role bridges leadership, product ownership, and quality assurance expertise, guiding a team of QA professionals while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable, automated solutions that improve quality, reduce cost, and accelerate delivery.
The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership skills with a deep background in QA automation, has the ability to influence leaders across the organization, and is passionate about building a culture of quality and innovation.
**Responsibilities:**
**Leadership & Strategy**
+ Provide vision and direction for WWT’s QA Automation initiatives, aligning them with business goals and IT strategy.
+ Partner with IT Leaders to define a clear roadmap for QA initiatives, ensuring business value and adoption.
**Product Ownership**
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with Product Managers, IT leaders, and business stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on QA and product quality.
+ Define, prioritize, and refine the QA backlog, ensuring the team has clarity and context for delivering stories.
+ Ensure that demos, feedback sessions, and communication with stakeholders clearly demonstrate progress and business value.
+ Track industry trends, emerging QA technologies, and automation tools to continuously evolve WWT’s QA capabilities.
+ Ensures the QA product vision is clearly communicated to the delivery team and understood by the team. Works with the delivery team daily to answer questions and review/approve stories.
+ Manages emerging priorities and escalations addressing internal or external customer needs/requests and helps adjust existing work of the delivery team where necessary.
+ Initiates and drives process improvements, automation opportunities and service improvements.
+ Partner with Product Manager to manage 3rd party licenses, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.
+ Partner with Product Manager to manage budget for portfolio of products.
+ Works with other product owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across other product development teams.
**Quality Assurance Execution**
+ Drive adoption of automated testing across IT teams, increasing automation
+ Partner with delivery teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
+ Monitor and report on quality metrics, progress against roadmap, and overall health of QA initiatives.
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
**Experience**
+ 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Development, or DevOps.
+ 7+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or QA leader in an Agile environment.
+ Proven ability to lead and grow teams, with 2+ years of people management experience.
+ Experience with QA automation frameworks, tools, and testing types (Playwrite, Opkey, etc.)
+ Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Oracle, ServiceNow, and SaaS applications.
+ Strong knowledge of Agile principles and backlog management.
**Competencies**
+ Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
+ Strong ability to influence, negotiate, and prioritize across competing demands.
+ Demonstrated ability to translate vision into strategy and actionable outcomes.
Skilled in building trust, managing ambiguity, and fostering servant leadership.
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $115,600.00 to $144,500.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
