Lead Pricing Actuary
Senior Actuarial Pricing Manager Location: Remote Overview The Senior Actuarial Pricing Manager will lead the full annual pricing cycle for a company product, overseeing scoping, execution, rate filing, and implementation. This leader will manage a small team of actuaries and collaborate closely with data science and modeling partners to translate analytical insights into actionable pricing strategies. The role spans multiple commercial lines, including Commercial Property, Liability (GL, PL, D&O, EPLI), Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation. This is a high‑visibility position with significant ownership, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building strong cross‑functional partnerships. Key Responsibilities + Lead the actuarial pricing function for the company product, ensuring accurate, data‑driven rate adequacy and segmentation. + Own the annual rate review process, including planning, timeline management, analysis, and executive sign‑off. + Manage, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial analysts; oversee workflow, deliverables, and performance. + Review and validate pricing analyses to minimize errors, strengthen controls, and improve transparency. + Partner with data science and modeling teams to incorporate GLM and predictive model outputs into pricing decisions. + Conduct and oversee deep‑dive analyses into industries, customer segments, and emerging trends to identify pricing opportunities. + Maintain strong documentation and governance around pricing assumptions, methodologies, and results. + Collaborate with product, operations, finance, and other stakeholders to align pricing initiatives with broader business objectives. + Provide actuarial expertise, insights, and recommendations to Senior leadership. + Support regulatory filings, including SERFF submissions, and ensure compliance with state requirements. Required Qualifications + ACAS designation (or near‑FCAS) preferred; significant pricing experience required. + 8–12 years of P&C actuarial experience, with a strong focus on pricing; candidates with 6+ years and strong technical depth will be considered. + Proven leadership experience managing actuarial staff (currently a team of two). + Extensive ratemaking experience, including incorporating GLM outputs into production pricing models. + Strong understanding of end‑to‑end pricing processes, rate reviews, and regulatory filing requirements. + Experience with SERFF filings and pricing governance frameworks. + Working knowledge of GLM and predictive modeling techniques. + Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications + Commercial lines experience, particularly small business or package products. + Experience collaborating with data science or predictive modeling teams. + Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R (preferred but not required). Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $225000.00/yr.
