Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Hardware

Simulate and design an overall Power Electronics system for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applicationsSpecify electrical components (Cables, Filters, Inductors, Capacitors, Transformers, Converters …) of the overall electrical power plantWrite all project artifacts including Hardware and commissioning instructionsDesign new Voltage Source Inverter (IGBT or Sic) and new Thyristor converter (Rectifier LCI)Support the Drive Test and Validation

Software

Develop Offline and Real Time Electrical System Simulation for the Design of a Power Electronics system for Marine, Oil and Gas, Industry applicationsWrite specifications for Power Electronic Controller and commissioning test mode instructionsDevelop the Drive/Converter Software and HMI, validate, and test on a test bench or on a HIL Real Time platformDevelop Technical Engineering tools for the project teamSupport the project team and Drive CommissioningSupport the Drive Validation and Commissioning

Required Qualifications

PhD with a minimum of 2 years experience in Power ElectronicsOr Master degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in Power ElectronicsOr Bachelor degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in Medium and High Voltage Power Electronics Converters

Understand physical phenomena; strong theoretical and mathematical background; with the ability to understand new concepts and ability to communicate information clearlyExperience in Middle Voltage and High Voltage applicationsWillingness to travel when neededAutonomous, curious with the ability to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a teamCreative, passionate and integrate into a teamExperience on MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives and CycloconverterExperience on Variable Speed application, STATCOM, or active filtering
