Lead Pharmacy Technician

As a Lead Pharmacy Technician – Retail, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations and ensuring safe, effective pharmaceutical care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position combines advanced technical responsibilities with leadership, mentorship, and program coordination.
 

What You Will Do

As a Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will:

Provide expert-level support in specialized pharmacy programs (e.g., 340B, inventory, medication reconciliation).

Lead and mentor pharmacy technicians, coordinate scheduling, and manage workflow.

Oversee quality assurance and compliance initiatives, including audits and drug diversion monitoring.

Support pharmacy operations such as medication preparation, billing, and patient-focused services like meds-to-bed and medication assistance programs.

Utilize and maintain pharmaceutical automation and technology systems.

Lead procurement processes including purchasing, receiving, and inventory management.

Deliver training and assess competencies for pharmacy staff.
 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: At least 3 years as a pharmacy technician with leadership experience and relevant certifications.

Licensure: Active pharmacy technician license in the state of Georgia.

Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
