This position will lead a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy. This infusion center is 54 chairs and serves many cancer types. In addition to clinical care and order verification, this position will support and maintain regulatory requirements. Preferred experience: Oncology and Infusion. Pharmacist ensures the safe effective and financially responsible use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the Medical Center.
Enters prescribing clinician orders into the appropriate computer application.Processes prescribing clinician’s orders (prescriptions).Oversees pharmacy technicians’ work.Provides drug information to patients caregivers and providers.Performs pharmacy functions according to Federal State local Health System and Department statutes regulations and published guideline documents.Oversees daily pharmacy operations and enhances the quality and delivery of care.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $55.67 - $89.07 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D required
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
