Therapist Certified Hand Therapist CHT is a dual role position that combines advanced clinical expertise in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation with leadership responsibilities within the outpatient rehab setting This experienced clinician independently evaluates and treats patients with complex upper extremity conditions including post surgical cases tendon injuries and fractures while also serving as a mentor and resource to other therapy staffThis role promotes health and wellness prevents injury or disability and improves functional independence through evidence based occupational therapy practices The Lead OTCHT supports departmental operations quality assurance and staff development contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvementKey ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesIndependently evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity dysfunction including surgical and non surgical conditions of the shoulder elbow wrist and handDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with patient and caregiver goalsDeliver therapeutic interventions including exercise pain management wound care swelling reduction and orthotic fabricationPerform assessments of strength motor control joint mobility soft tissue integrity and functional abilitiesFabricate custom upper extremity orthoses as neededWork directly with orthopedic surgeons in the ambulatory hand clinic and collaborate on treatment approach and patient outcomesLeadership Operational DutiesServe as a clinical resource and mentor to Occupational Therapy staff Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants students and Rehab AidesAssist with onboarding training and ongoing coaching of new and existing staffParticipate in quality control data collection and regulatory compliance effortsIdentify and recommend process improvements using the organizationrsquos operating modelProvide feedback to supervisors and contribute to performance evaluationsModel a commitment to clinical excellence by integrating evidence based practice technology and innovation into patient careCollaborate across disciplines to deliver coordinated high quality care that
