How You Will Make an Impact:
Play a crucial role in a laboratory team by performing accurate media and buffer preparations for Process Development and Quality Control.Ensure compliance, safe laboratory techniques, and efficient workload scheduling to maintain customer loyalty.Innovate and apply practical process improvements to streamline laboratory operations.Deliver on committed contractual scopes of work.Assist with tracking business metrics, inbox monitoring, responses, and work order closures as per service level agreements.Follow SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and prepare for site audits using client computer systems.Maintain Good Documentation Practices in all record-keeping.Support Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives to drive a culture of process improvement.Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific positively and professionally at all customer locations.Perform other responsibilities as needed.Lead Responsibilities:
Guide the daily activities of the team to ensure efficient and effective operations.Manage the schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.Lead sample management activities, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of samples.Oversee glassware activities, including cleaning, sterilization, and inventory management.Report directly to the Site Supervisor, providing updates on team performance and operational status.Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain areas in a high state of inspection readiness, including laboratory housekeeping and compliance.Complete tasks associated with laboratory operations (e.g., media/solution preparations, weighing, dispensing, filtration, labeling, dilutions, aseptic techniques, troubleshooting, cell culture support, microbial agar plates, verification and calibration of benchtop equipment).Perform verification/approval of peer documentation in electronic systems and equipment logbooks in adherence with SOPs.Align with the company vision and mission by cross-training and supporting different service areas as required based on business needs.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in a scientific field (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field) from an accredited college or university.2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred.Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.Safety-focused with compliance skills to achieve expected results.Ability to prioritize assignments and complete work in a timely manner despite deadlines, fluctuating workloads, or last-minute changes.High attention to detail in both operations and documentation.Effective communication with supervisors and peers.Proven excellence in customer service.Thorough and analytical with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.GMP/GLP compliance and experience with audit-critical records preferred.Ability to recognize and accurately report problems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Webex, PowerPoint).Experience writing laboratory procedures and work instructions.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to perform extensive walking/standing, lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds consistently, and handle carcinogenic, mutagenic, and irritant classified chemicals.Exhibit Thermo Fisher’s values of integrity, intensity, involvement, and innovation.Benefits: We offer competitive pay, an annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
