Lead Mechanical Engineer
Job Description Join a leading engineering team supporting Clean Combustion Services’ boiler market and power plant operations. In this role, you will plan, design, and modify complex mechanical systems and pressure parts, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and deliver innovative solutions for customer requests and plant assessments. You’ll leverage advanced engineering techniques and leadership skills to drive projects from concept through implementation, ensuring technical excellence and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems, products, and pressure parts for power plant applications. • Develop complex models and simulations using advanced engineering software and analytical methods. • Lead or act as principal investigator for engineering projects, troubleshooting issues and preparing technical recommendations and reports. • Conduct economic studies and prepare specifications, proposals, and safety documents for contracts and licensing. • Represent the engineering group in meetings and conferences; interact directly with customers to resolve technical issues and develop action plans. • Provide technical direction and minor administrative guidance to small teams of engineers and assistants. • Support Clean Combustion Services’ boiler market, including material upgrades and comprehensive power plant assessments. Skills and Requirements Must-Haves • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • 5–8 years of relevant engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated accomplishments). • Strong expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and pressure part engineering. • Proficiency with advanced modeling/simulation tools and analytical techniques. • Experience leading engineering projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Excellent communication and technical writing skills. • Ability to work onsite 1–2 days per week in Bloomfield, CT. Plusses • Experience with power plant systems, boiler upgrades, or Clean Combustion Services. • Familiarity with economic analysis, contract preparation, and regulatory documentation. • Demonstrated success in customer-facing engineering roles. • Prior leadership or mentoring experience within engineering teams. • Knowledge of advanced materials and manufacturing processes for pressure parts.
