As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Seal Gas System you'll be responsible for the detailed design and the requisition activities needed for Baker Hughes Package and Systems Insourcing products such as Centrifugal Compressor Seal Gas Panels. You'll have to assure product standardization adoption, leveraging on specific configuration tools, reducing customization where strictly needed by projects requirements, with the aim of leading Global Supply Chain goals accomplishment, direct material productivity strategies implementation, product quality and installation support. 

You will be responsible for the coordination and integration of all technical and strategical activities ensuring the Insourcing Product competitiveness and quality results. 

 

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Seal Gas System you will be responsible for: 

Making detailed mechanical design for Seal Gas Panel panel. Making detailed piping design for process piping lines and impulse lines being part of Seal Gas Panel scope of supply. Performing finite element or piping stress analysis on structure and piping routing to validate design activities.  Coordinating with Procurement Department for the technical content of RFQ, for Offers evaluation and Suppliers selection Collaborating with Instrument Design Engineers to integrate mechanical design and electrical design to meet functional and ergonomic criteria and to guarantee flawless assembly execution. Collaborating with System Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to define and specify auxiliary equipment such as filters, piping, control & safety valves to be integrated in seal gas panels. Leveraging use of specific configuration tools, such as Cadenas (Digital catalogues) and Rulestream (Product Configurator), select suitable configuration of products matching project requirements to maximize use of standard parts increasing efficiency of engineering, procurement and manufacturing phase. Supporting product Configuration Manager to development and maintain product configurators proactively, reporting feedback on content and usability, voice of customer and lesson learnt.   Supporting Project Engineering and Manufacturing teams during packaging activities, functional test and final inspection, proving technical authority to solve issues or supporting design solution implementation.   Being accountable for detailed product design review with cross-functional team to guarantee solution robustness and best practice. Assuring quality awareness through lessons learnt implementation, technical notes issuing and resolutions of top issues. Coordinating and supporting the outsource engineering resources, monitoring their quality, timing and productivity. Provide a strong guidance and contribution to bring innovative ideas to improve product design, performance and quality. Being accountable to meet BH quality targets on insourcing products (NCR, NCM, CoQ). 

 

Fuel your passion 

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

Have a Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace or Energy Engineering with 5 or more years experience in Engineering/Technology. Be able to use design/modelling software such as parametric 3D CAD (NX or similar) and 2D (Autocad). Have a basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing process and materials. Be a clear thinker: make decisions with fast and accuracy based on best available information. Accountability and collaboration attitude to work in cross-functional Teams, where diversity is appreciated and encouraged as an added & enriching value. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. Passionate for technical deep dive, professionally curious, innovation advocate. Fluent in Italian and English, written and oral. EU Work Permit. 

Desired Characteristics:

Have knowledge of Auxiliary system for Turbomachinery.  Have knowledge of Product configurators or digital catalogues. Have Systems-Thinking mindset.
