Requirements10+ years as a Manufacturing Engineer in a CNC machining environment
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
Expertise leading CNC programmers and machinists on multi-axis mills and lathes
Mastery of CAM programming (Mastercam) and G-code optimization
Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, customer specifications, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Proven new-part introduction (NPI) process development and production planning
Tooling and fixture design for repeatable, high-tolerance machining
Creation of setup sheets, work instructions, and process routers
Experience with MRP/ERP routing and BOM structures
Statistical process control (SPC) and capability studies for dimensional compliance
Preferred Skills5-axis milling, mill-turn, and probing cycles (Renishaw/OTS)
High-speed machining strategies, toolpath simulation/verification (e.g., Vericut)
Cutting tool selection, coolant strategies, and chip control for aluminum, steels, Inconel, titanium
Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/DFA) and tolerance stack-up analysis
Process validation: control plans, PFMEA, PPAP/FAI documentation
CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks) for fixture and tool design
CMM programming/measurement and advanced metrology
Lean/Six Sigma methods for cycle-time reduction and waste elimination
Automation exposure (pallet pools, bar feeders, cobots) and post-processor tuning
ResponsibilitiesLead CNC programming team to create, review, and release setup sheets and Mastercam programs
Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes for new part numbers from prototype through full-rate production
Interpret drawings and customer specifications to define machining strategy, datums, and inspection approach
Design production tooling/fixtures and develop associated process routers and routings in ERP
Optimize toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and workholding for quality, takt, and tool life
Plan production sequences, balance operations, and set standard cycle times
Execute first-article builds; document results and drive corrective actions to meet GD&T requirements
Maintain process documentation: control plans, work instructions, and revision control/ECOs
