Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description SummaryLead Manufacturing engineer with responsibility sustaining, improving and supporting troubleshooting and maintenance and upkeep of automated equipment within the Fuel Component Operation. This will develop and deliver Tooling that are used to manufacture hardware for commercial nuclear power reactors. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of new products and technology with an emphasis in motion control to meet manufacturing needs and overcome complex technical challenges. This individual will ensure there are appropriate operating procedures, support operator and maintenance technician training material, create technical reports for the associated equipment, and drive improvement projects to mitigate the leading causes for lost productivity, or quality non-conformances.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Execute the design, and development for specialty tooling and equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements.Develop tooling of medium to high complexity though Mechanical, Electrical, Software Programming and Motion Control design.Communicate technical detail to fabricators and technicians through the generation of fabrication drawings, specifications, and direct communication.Manage day-to-day operation of manufacturing equipment, other processes, and troubleshoot equipment issuesProvide guidance to operations teams on best practices for safe and efficient machine operationsPartner with operations teams to improve how equipment is ranSupport training of new operatorsGenerate operational instructions for newly developed tools and equipment.Provide feedback and technical input during design reviews and verifications.Interface with a broad, multi-disciplinary team.Lead implementation process improvement initiatives on managed equipment and processesSupport lean initiatives and preventative maintenance programsAct as subject matter expert of the assigned manufacturing processes to support maintenance and operations troubleshootingProcess monitoring to ensure equipment and process is within control and reliability and availability expectationsUpkeep of process and equipment documentation including operating procedures, maintenance guides, training material, technical reports, and functional test instructionsProvide operational oversight and training support for operators and maintenance of equipmentDrive process improvement projects in response to identified issues, and proactively as opportunities are identifiedSupport testing of equipment, processes, and controls to assure conformance to applicable regulations and quality requirementsSupport 24/7 manufacturing operation, including emergency response, and scheduled projectsOther relevant duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with five (5) years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent on implementation, design, maintenance, or process improvement of mechanical equipment. At least two (2) of the those years in a production environment

OR

Associates degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with seven (7) years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent on implementation, design, maintenance, or process improvement of mechanical equipment. At least two (4) of the those years in a production environment

OR

High School Diploma or equivalent with ten (10) years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer on implementation, design, maintenance, or process improvement of mechanical equipment. At least two (5) of the those years in a production environment

Eligibility Requirements

Ability to walk up and down stairs. Willingness and ability to support urgent machine issues on off hours.Willingness to work flexible hour meet business projects/initiatives.Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States.GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. US Pay transparency verbiage

The salary range for this position is $95-120k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. This position is expected to close on 8/26/2025.
