You have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to efficiently coordinate, prioritize, and plan the work of self and others. You are able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships. As a Lead Maintenance, you will be be responsible for (but not limited to): -Performs a variety of skilled tasks for efficient repair and maintenance of facilities, vehicles, and/or equipment -May procure services, supplies, and materials -Plans and estimates project and program costs -Inspects facilities, equipment, and/or vehicles for needed repairs and maintenance -Collaborates to establish and monitor a schedule of preventative maintenance and recommends prioritization of projects -May oversee, inform, support or review the work of others, including contractors, as appropriate -Utilizes technology appropriately to complete job tasks efficiently and in alignment with San José Unified procedures -Appropriately handles hazardous materials -Stays current with best practices, materials, and supplies as they relate to areas of responsibility
What you need for this position: -Completion of 12th grade or equivalent -California Class B driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements -Commercial Medical Certificate -Air Brake and BIT Inspection certifications -Diesel Engine Repair – 3 years experience -Resume and Letter of introduction outlining desire and qualifications for this position Roles Available: -Transportation Department -1.0 FTE - 40hrs./week -10am- 7pm -12-Month Position Note to internal applicants: Even though we may have some information on file for you, we encourage you to submit a letter of introduction highlighting your qualifications and interest in this role, as well as any other information you would like to share.
