This role requires expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive cybersecurity policies and standards. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:** The Lead IT Policy Specialist will manage the lifecycle of enterprise cybersecurity policy programs, working closely with federal stakeholders to develop and maintain effective security policies. Key responsibilities include: + Lead the development, review, and updates of cybersecurity policies, standards, and handbooks + Support the maturation of cybersecurity policy frameworks + Develop creative communication methods for policy dissemination + Create and maintain documentation for security controls, incident response, and configuration management + Conduct research and analysis on cybersecurity best practices + Develop and analyze cybersecurity data calls + Prepare detailed reports and briefings for diverse stakeholders + Monitor and analyze federal cybersecurity requirements + Support policy implementation and adoption across organizations + Provide subject matter expertise on security and privacy controls **Education and Experience:** **Required:** + Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, OR 5+ years of experience in IT policy development and implementation + Experience in federal government cybersecurity policy + Background in technical writing and documentation **Required Skills and Competencies:** + Expert knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and requirements + Strong understanding of NIST standards and guidelines + Excellence in technical writing and documentation + Experience in policy development and implementation + Proficiency in creating training materials and presentations + Strong analytical and research skills + Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear policy + Experience with security assessment and authorization processes + Knowledge of incident response and contingency planning + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision + Experience in stakeholder management and engagement **Desired Skills and Competencies:** + Advanced degree in related field + Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+) + Experience with FISMA compliance requirements + Knowledge of zero trust architecture principles + Familiarity with FedRAMP requirements + Experience in risk management frameworks + Background in cybersecurity awareness training + Knowledge of privacy requirements and controls + Experience with policy automation tools + Understanding of DevSecOps practices **Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy** The company is an equal opportunity employer.
