This position is based in Haverhill, MA at our Ward Hill facility, within Thermo Fisher Scientific's Laboratory Chemicals Division and Laboratory Products Group business.

How You Will Make an Impact:

Lead the inventory control team by advising daily work activities, provide support to your colleagues as a subject-matter guide, and liaison with the supervisory team.

A Day in the Life:

Direct the activities of the inventory team to meet the daily production schedule.

Lead by example by consistently demonstrating the Company's 4i values - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement

Identify and report any barriers or issues to management.

Provide training and support on all inventory functions to new hires and team members.

Act as a skilled specialist to complete more sophisticated investigations and inventory discrepancies in a resourceful and efficient manner.

Sustain a high level of quality to ensure team performance aligns to site policies and procedures.

Proactively identify areas for continuous improvement and collaborate with teams to support PPI (Practical Process Improvement) projects

Review and report team performance metrics to management and internal customers when required.

Safely operate distribution/warehouse equipment when required.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 4 years of work experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or related field.

Preferred: Experience leading others, either formally or informally.

Preferred: Experience with cycle counts and performing inventory audits and investigations, powered industrial trucks (order pickers, pallet jacks, etc.) and/or LEAN manufacturing concepts.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Communication both in writing and verbally in English.

Intermediate computer knowledge (to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, MS Office programs) and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, etc.).

Social skills and a positive approach to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and internal customers.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Ability to work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures, including cold room and/or freezer room.

Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment required): safety glasses, lab coat, safety shoes, and gloves.

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Occasionally required to lift heavier weights with assistance.

Ability to handle hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, kneel, crouch, and walk.

Some overtime may be required.
