This role requires a strong understanding of design principles, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes to ensure effective and producible designs. The position provides design, drafting, and detailing support across a range of mechanical engineering and tooling projects, contributing to the development of high-quality engineering documentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical depth, precision, and collaboration skills while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and innovative design solutions. Essential Responsibilities:
3D Modeling & Drafting:
Develop detailed part definitions, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross-sections and 3D solid models.
Apply tolerance stack-ups and prepare data in various electronic formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
Data & Systems Management:
Maintain and update engineering data systems, including Autodesk Vault and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and other project-related databases.
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
Apply deep technical knowledge and analytical thinking to execute project policies and strategies.
Exercise sound judgment to propose creative and effective solutions for complex manufacturing challenges, often outside of standard parameters.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
Mentor and support colleagues by sharing best practices in drafting techniques and 3D parametric modeling.
Use internal and limited external resources to inform decisions and drive improvements in processes and outcomes.
Leadership & Project Involvement:
May lead small-scale, low-risk projects with defined resource requirements.
Help build consensus and develop team capabilities by effectively explaining technical topics and guiding less experienced team members.
