Who you are: As a skilled and experienced groundskeeper, you bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining safe, beautiful, and functional outdoor environments. You demonstrate excellent time management and prioritize both quality and safety in every task. You take initiative, set the standard for others, and foster teamwork while also working efficiently and independently. With a focus on continuous improvement, you model best practices and contribute to the growth and success of our facilities and grounds team. As the Lead Groundskeeper, you will assist the Head Groundskeeper in overseeing daily operations and be responsible for (but not limited to): -Coordinating and guiding the work of Groundskeepers to ensure efficient and high-quality maintenance of district grounds. -Performing advanced grounds maintenance duties, including irrigation troubleshooting, minor repairs, and special projects. -Supporting inventory management, ensuring tools and materials are available and properly maintained. -Promoting and enforcing safety and compliance procedures throughout daily work activities. -Operating and assisting others with forklifts, mowers, and specialized equipment, ensuring proper use and care. -Demonstrating initiative, reliability, and professionalism as a role model for the grounds team.
What you need for this position: -Completion of 12th grade or equivalent -Resume and Letter of Introduction outlining desire and qualifications for this position -Three (3) years of experience operating heavy power equipment -FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration at https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/ Preferred Within the first six months of employment: -Medical Certificate -Class A California Driver’s License -Industrial Lift Truck Operator’s Permit Location: Maintenance Department Note to internal applicants: Even though we may have some information on file for you, we encourage you to submit a letter of introduction highlighting your qualifications and interest in this role, as well as any other information you would like to share.
