Lead Flow Assurance Engineer
Primary Role The primary role of this position is to be responsible for technical quality, coordination, supervision, and production of all engineering work within the discipline engineering team for assigned projects. The role shall also ensure the technical adequacy and quality of engineering work produced by the discipline engineers at subordinate levels and proper coordination and communication with other disciplines for completion of all assigned work within schedule and budget of the Project. Specific Responsibilities Management and Coordination Manage all engineering activities under the scope of the discipline engineering team. Coordinate and organise the discipline engineering team in projects. Support the Engineering Manager/ Flow Assurance Manager in resolution of multi-discipline issues. Identify software requirements and selection of appropriate design tools. Continuously update on latest engineering developments and methods in identifying areas of future development of the discipline engineering team. Engineering Delivery and Compliance Establish design premises and/or Basis of Design (BoD) for projects. Establish technical direction for the discipline for projects Drive compliance with Worley Management System in engineering delivery within the discipline, supported by Engineering Manager.  Ensure compliance with engineering standards, Customer specifications and requirements, references and legislative requirements. Ensure strict Technical Integrity of the discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities. Seek understanding of the hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed facilities, related such hazards and risks to the discipline engineering team and discuss the way forward to address them with Customer and/or Flow Assurance Manager. Develop the list of deliverables for the scope of the discipline engineering team for the Project. Manage the implementation of Quality Assurance system requirements to ensure engineering delivery quality and consistency within the discipline engineering team and identify deliverables for squad check or inter-discipline check. Resolve discipline technical issues. Review and provide inputs to project schedule related to discipline scope of work. Proposal, Tender Package Preparation and Tender Bid Evaluation Prepare and develop the proposal for discipline scope of work, including understanding technical requirements in the Tender documents, identifying required engineering activities, determining resources, estimating manhours, forecasting project schedule. Control Ensure delivery of the discipline’s design deliverables within the work-hour budget and schedule to support project targets and objectives. Prepare discipline work hour estimates (including Variation Orders) and deliverables lists. Plan the execution of the discipline’s activities to maintain project milestones. Drive Change Management within the discipline, particularly variances / trends. Progress reporting of discipline deliverables. Ensure compliance with documentation control system. People Communicate technical direction to the discipline engineering team. Provide control and supervision for engineering delivery within the discipline engineering team. Manage discipline resources together with Engineering Manager and/or Project Manager. Communicate and document key design decisions to discipline engineering team. Guide, train and assist subordinate discipline engineers to address complex technical issues as required. Identify and arrange project training for discipline engineering personnel, where applicable. Manage discipline workshare team(s) at other locations and ensure alignment in expectations and schedule. Essential Skills/Experience Knowledgeable and with working experience in oil & gas industry with 10 years of experience or longer, in particular on flow assurance and process engineering of pipeline network systems. Extensive knowledge and experienced in performing flow assurance and process engineering of pipeline network systems, including but not limited to, steady state hydraulic analysis, transient analysis, surge analysis, etc. for projects at various phases. Extensive knowledge of flow assurance technical aspects (i.e., management and remediation of wax, hydrates and other solids; multiphase flow and related operational considerations; reservoir fluid properties, behaviour and characterization; thermodynamics; heat transfer modelling; overall system-level operability) Ability to write professional technical reports and prepare effective presentations and assist in training of others to do so. Good understanding of the fundamental engineering principles applicable in flow assurance and process engineering with the ability to apply advance theories to resolve engineering challenges and/or optimise engineering solutions. Well-versed with industrial practices and international codes and standards, including DNVGL, ASME, API, ISO, etc., and their applications in flow assurance and process engineering. Good understanding and experienced in the use and applicability, including the limitations, of engineering software and tools for engineering design, including but not limited to OLGA, PIPESIM, HYSYS, PVTSim, HYSYS Dynamics, PIPENET etc. Good understanding and experienced in preparation of operation philosophies, manuals and procedures. Good understanding in work interfaces with other disciplines including pipeline engineering studies, material and corrosion studies, construction and operation requirements, schedule development, cost estimation, etc.  Good understanding of the engineering scope and requirements for various phase of the Project, including conceptual, feasibility or Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design. Good understanding in offshore field development. Updated with latest engineering developments and methods to identify areas of future development. Proven ability to management discipline project teams of at least 5 persons independently or with a minimal direction. Ability and willingness to meet agreed schedule deadlines and budget of projects. Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with others as part of a team. Ability and willingness to guide, train and develop subordinate discipline engineers. Competent in explaining and documenting design concepts and approaches in engineering reports and studies in the English language. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent, or higher academic achievements in the relevant field. Chartered Engineer (IChemE, IEAust or equivalent) or Member of Appropriate Engineering Institution (or at least applying for membership) Minimum 12 years of experience in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industry. Minimum 10 years of experience in flow assurance / process design of upstream / downstream hydrocarbons. #LI-DG1
