Job Description
The Project Estimator Lead is a key member of the Engineering and Estimating team, responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to project estimators. As the primary contact for all estimating needs, this individual approves estimators’ quotes to ensure alignment with company pricing structure and provides exceptional customer service and timely responses to customer inquiries. The estimating team lead is also responsible for the system creation of new parts when they transition from an estimate to a customer order.
ResponsibilitiesRespond to emails and enter Requests for Quotation (RFQs) into the request tracking system.Deliver exceptional service to customers by providing prompt and accurate responses to inquiries.Review and approve estimators' quotes and pricing.Ensure the estimating department remains focused on tasks, delivering quotes within 48 hours.Conduct job recaps to validate the accuracy of estimates.Audit and improve estimating templates and calculators.Enter new parts into the E2 Shop System and create shop documents.Assist with estimating workload as needed.Analyze customer drawings, blueprints, and other provided information to determine materials needed and production methods.Obtain quotes from outside sources as necessary.Estimate materials, labor, and outside costs, and calculate pricing using company quoting templates, estimating calculators, and production efficiency reports.Process and generate formal quotes through the E2 Shop System.Enhance performance and capabilities by assisting other departments with engineering and estimating issues.Assist management in providing cost reductions to key customers by analyzing current projects and quoted prices, identifying areas for cost savings.Assist the quality team with inspections and/or blueprint interpretation when needed.Identify process improvement opportunities in the Engineering and Estimating department and recommend modifications to enhance quality.Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.Handle customer environmental compliance requests.Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule.Essential SkillsComputer operationGoogle SuiteRFQERP systemE2 SystemCalipersMicrometerAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in quoting in a manufacturing environment is preferred.High level of skill in computer use, basic math, blueprint reading, and customer service.Knowledge of E2 Shop Management System is a plus.Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other measuring devices is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment is climate-controlled, with candidates spending 6+ hours per day sitting and engaged in screen time. There is continual contact with others, and some loud and/or distracting noise may be present. Time spent in the manufacturing area ranges from 0 to 2 hours per day.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
