Compensation includes a base salary of $108,800.00 - $181,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The BlackLine Enterprise Applications Lead on the Continuous Process Improvement team will support Cox Automotive’s Accounting CoE organization. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Business Process Design & Improvement (BPD&I) – BlackLine, Record to Report, and Chart of Accounts Governance. This role will collaborate with business leaders within the company to address business issues and support decision making through effective BlackLine solution management and application of accounting expertise.
This position will be responsible for leading the Cox Automotive BlackLine related processes. The BlackLine Enterprise Applications Lead is responsible for managing the deployment, adoption, and optimization of the BlackLine tool, including journal entries, account reconciliations, match sets, and financial close activities. This role will be responsible for consulting with business partners (Enterprise Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT) on a regular basis. Effective management of BlackLine is a responsibility that will enable Cox Automotive to optimize and mitigate risk in its processes.
The ideal candidate will have technical, process improvement, change management, governance, and communication experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and support the day-to-day BlackLine activities for the Accounting Center of ExcellenceWill lead a team of up to four BlackLine administrators and/or optimization personnelCollaborate with technical teams and business partners on BlackLine implementation solutionsArchitect, develop, build, test and integrate BlackLine solutionsIdentify opportunities for AI and lead efforts for automation to enhance BlackLine performance and processesLead and support BlackLine training efforts as new users are onboarded to the toolWork with business partners to drive account reconciliation, journal entry, and financial close reporting through BlackLine (i.e., aged items, unreconciled balances, overdue close tasks)Build a metrics and performance management strategy and culture, driving measurable business results and tracking adoption of BlackLineAccountable for all process standards relating to BlackLine: data, reporting, systems security, compliance, financial controls, change management and process excellenceLead operational readiness and change management approach to accompany BlackLine changes, to drive business adoption and organizational agilityBuilding and supporting the deployment of the ongoing roadmap of BlackLine integration solutions across the organizationWork collaboratively with stakeholders to develop project plans, schedule resources, monitor and report progress, resolve issues, mitigate risk and deliver organizational changeOffers recommendations for improving system performance gaps and system options to increase efficiencies and achieve best practice standards.Perform special projects as required.Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
BA/BS degree in related discipline (i.e. Business, Finance and/or Accounting) with 6 years of experience in Blackline system administration, leading application process improvements, or a related field.The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1+ years’ experience; or 10 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.4+ years of accounting or finance experience requiredBackground in financial close process optimization and related controlsProven ability to influence and to collaborate with business partnersActs as first tier end user support, escalate with system support teams as necessary.Tracks, documents, and manages support issues with BlackLine.Partners closely with management and end-users to gather and document business requirements to enhance systems and processes to drive increased efficiency.Experience with continuous improvement and project management – Six Sigma Green Belt and/or PMP a plusProven ability to deliver high levels of customer serviceDemonstrated financial analysis strength and ability to lead training efforts with key stakeholdersExperience within a Center of Excellence environment a plusExcellent oral and written communication is mandatoryCompetencies/Skills:
