The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for downstream & upstream Turbomachinery Solutions at the regional & global level. In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within area of application engineering and contribute to the overall business strategy. The role requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities
In the role, you will lead the following activities:
Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing competitive product applications and solutions.Be responsible for supporting leaders in delivering revenue commitments.Estimate Baker Hughes (BH) equipment and system performance, hardware, and price for budgetary estimates for new units and upgrades of Centrifugal Compressors as per API 617, Balance of plant, Auxiliary systems for Compressors.Assess competitive system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the entire bid process.Align sub vendors proposals according to customer’s Requisition and relevant applicable technical specs guarantying quality completeness and time responsiveness.Participate to Risk Assessment processes, deal strategy reviews and cost out reviews during proposals preparation defining the best technical solutions.Support bid reviews and proposal clarification meetings.Perform cycle and equipment comparisons to establish economically optimum / BH preferred cycle and configuration with involvement of and communication to the commercial teams and application engineers.Respond to various technical questions regarding products and systems solutions.Develop and maintain documentation of processes and information used within the evaluation, analysis and pricing group for the purposes of ensuring consistency, sharing of information among team members, and training resourcesProvide performance data and hardware definition and work with Engineering and Sales to assure technical support of proposals.Provide accurate and timely data, which may involve direct interaction with internal and external customersCommunicate openly with management about the status of projects to facilitate the evolution of business strategies and increase our hit rate on current and future projectsManage daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processesUse effective problem-solving skills and documents to communicate results of generated technical dataEstablish working relationships using clear and concise writing and speaking skills.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Engineering/Technology). On that. a Minimum of 5 years of experience in Customer Application Engineering at product level of Centrifugal Compressor.
