Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer- Test Equipment
**Job Description Summary** The Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer- Test Equipment will be responsible for the daily test stand maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, verification, and validation of test equipment. *Please note that this role will be required to sit onsite at our Vandalia, OH facility. **Job Description** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Responsible for day-to-day support of final test operations including troubleshooting and repair of complex test systems. + Develop an in-depth knowledge of power generation and conversion systems. + Will be responsible for managing small projects related to cost out and continuous improvement. + Proactively look for areas of improvement within the department. + Develop an in-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams throughout the plant. + Has the technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve complex electrical problems. + Work cross functionally within a matrixed organization to solve problems outside your area of expertise. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology + from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of engineering, scientific or other technical experience). + Plus, a minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering or electrical maintenance position related to electrical systems troubleshooting or electrical power generation systems. + This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. + Ability to sit onsite at the Vandalia, OH facility. **Desired Characteristics** + Strong troubleshooting background to the component level. + Experience with 480V electrical systems. + Experience with AC and DC motors and their drives. + Familiarity with power electronics, electric motors, and electric power conversion concepts. + Experience with high speed / high power motor and gearbox systems. + Background and understanding in aircraft power systems, including generation, conversion, distribution, and aircraft load. + Prior work experience in aerospace power generation / conversion products. + Lean Manufacturing experience & desire to expand Lean mindset within the organization. + Prior project management experience. + Background in preventative maintenance or TPM programs. \#LI-JB1 _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
