Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Lead Editor to join our team. This is a remote, work-from-home position.

Own Your Beat
Lead coverage for your assigned vehicle segment.
Ensure all content is multi-media first, accurate, timely, and impactful.
Keep your research center current and trusted.
Mentor with Empathy and Model Excellence
Mentor Senior Editors and early-career teammates.
Model editorial excellence, resilience, curiosity, and continuous learning.
Champion AI-first workflows and smart brevity.
Continuously improve content cycle time.
Create with Purpose and Grow the Brand
Produce and edit content across formats - text, video, visuals.
Use tools like WordPress, Adobe Premiere, and Bynder.
Build a social media presence that reflects your work.
Build community through social media and audience engagement.
Cultivate sources and relationships for better access.
Think Like a Journalist, Act Like a Strategist
Monitor trends and integrate them into your work.
Use analytics and AI to guide content planning.
Collaborate with SEO, product, and marketing teams.
Track KPIs: audience growth, engagement, content velocity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 10 years’ experience in a related field.
Strong storytelling, editing, and multimedia skills.
Experience building a following on social media.
Strong proficiency with AI tools, digital platforms, and publishing technology.
Passion for cars, content, and innovation.
Clear communicator with a bias for action.
Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
Skilled in analytical thinking, consulting, data gathering and reporting, effective presentations and managing multiple priorities.
Skilled in collaborating with intent, driving innovation, engaging others, focusing on execution and striving for excellence.
Requires up to 50% travel, which may include international destinations.
