Job Summary
Responsible for performing general distribution center operations and supporting management by acting as the first line of assistance for associates. Depending on the volume/size of the facility, it may have specialized tasks or a generalized role working in all departments.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Coaches and trains lower-level EDC associates on the proper execution of distribution center duties, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Exhibits detailed knowledge of all distribution center roles and is qualified in all aspects of distribution center operations.
Safely operates forklift or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, and transportation of goods. Operates pallet jacks or other machinery to complete tasks such as unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products.
Verifies and enters data into the system.
Maintains condition of work area.
Stocks product in designated locations or locates to pull correct quantities to fulfill customer orders and meet productivity and accuracy goals.
Tasks such as receiving, returns, inventory, order layout, data entry, and loading trucks considering cubic weight, size, and characteristics of load.
Conducting safety inspections, providing training for all team members, enforcing safety policies, maintaining a clean work environment, managing hazardous materials, and developing emergency evacuation plans to ensure safety in the distribution center.

Nature and Scope
Problems are typically difficult and/or high impact. Troubleshoots complex support or operational problems for junior level associates.
Under limited supervision, independently resolves issues and applies a variety of methods to develop customized solutions. May lead the daily operations of a department or team. Work typically involves infrequent review of output by a supervisor or direct customers of the process.
Assists with supervisory duties but does not have hiring/firing authority. Trains, delegates tasks, and reviews the work of junior level associates.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift Certification Required
Experienced in leading staff by example and handling supervisory duties, with a strong background in training and coaching.
