Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Lead Discipline Engineer – Instrument / Control / Metering to lead the design, development, and delivery of instrumentation, control, and metering systems for FPSO surface facility projects in an EPC environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience, with a strong background in full-cycle FPSO projects from FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and offshore integration.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the instrumentation, control, and metering engineering scope for FPSO surface facilities throughout the EPC lifecycle. Oversee the development of key deliverables including P&IDs, control system architecture, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, and metering system specifications. Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, ISA, API, ISO) and client specifications. Coordinate with multi-discipline teams (process, mechanical, electrical, structural) to ensure integrated and optimized designs. Interface with clients, vendors, and classification societies to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with project requirements. Lead technical reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, and participate in constructability and operability assessments. Provide technical leadership during procurement, including vendor selection, technical bid evaluations, and document reviews. Support construction and commissioning teams with technical guidance, site queries, and punch list resolution. Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality and consistency across all instrumentation, control, and metering deliverables. Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs within budget and schedule. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 12 years of experience in instrumentation, control, and metering engineering, with significant experience in FPSO EPC projects. Proven leadership in delivering full-cycle offshore projects, including topside integration and commissioning. Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems including DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, and metering systems. Familiarity with engineering tools such as Aveva, SmartPlant Instrumentation, AutoCAD, and relevant simulation software. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
