Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Developer.
The Lead Developer of Technology Engineering to lead the development and delivery of custom software solutions that support and advance our medical education mission. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the technology landscape of a premier academic medical center and contribute to systems that support students, residents, faculty, and academic leadership. This role is focused on managing the day-to-day work of software engineering developers, coordinating delivery with architects, and ensuring technical excellence across development pipelines. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, proven engineering leadership, and familiarity with cloud-native platforms, AI/ML integrations, and modern DevOps practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day execution of mission-critical projects with an emphasis on quality, security, and scalability. Serve as a hands-on technical lead for development teams including both on-shore and off-shore staff providing guidance, code reviews, and technical direction while influencing team practices without direct line management. Work in close collaboration with the Technology Architect to translate architectural strategies into actionable engineering plans. Drive task planning, sprint execution, and delivery management across multiple software teams in partnership with project and people managers. Provide technical coaching, mentorship, and feedback to engineers, supporting their growth in collaboration with their managers. Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including secure coding, graceful failure, DevOps integration, and observability. Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance software delivery velocity, quality, and maintainability. Evaluate and adopt appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies with a focus on innovation and sustainability. Support the design and communication of cloud-native and AI-integrated system architectures with input from architects. Promote the integration of emerging technologies such as Databricks, LLMs, and agentic tools into engineering workflows. Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure alignment and compliance. Support IT governance processes and participate in enterprise architecture reviews.Minimum Qualifications:

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $121,792.22 - $178,821.17 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
