Lead Database Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Database Engineer that create and manage databases for the organization, including designing, building, installing, and maintaining databases to meet business needs.


In this role, you will:

Lead complex or critical database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and business groups, including database architecture, design, integration and data modelingProvide the highest technical expertise for the planning, research, design implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databasesReview and analyze complex database technologies that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factorsDesign and certify next generation database technologiesAssist in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolutionRecommend improvements to web application processing issues and designConsult with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long range internal and enterprise level database architecture and management strategiesProvide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technologyCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education



Desired Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in Database Engineering, with a strong focus on Oracle technologies.Proven expertise in Oracle Golden Gate setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.Deep experience in Oracle performance tuning, including diagnostics, AWR/ASH analysis, and SQL tuning.Strong Shell scripting skills and experience in automation of database tasks.Experience in managing and supporting high-availability, large-scale database environments.Solid understanding of database monitoring tools and SLA management.Exposure to MongoDB and experience with sharding and distributed database design is a plus.Experience in consulting roles with application teams for performance tuning and architecture reviews.Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in database environments.Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions and hybrid architectures.
