Lead Data Scientist
**Lead Data Scientist – Forecasting & Workforce Optimization** **Location:** Remote (U.S. based) **Reports to:** VP of Analytics **Team:** Analytics **Overview** Sevita is transforming how we plan, staff, and deliver care using data. We’re hiring a **Lead Data Scientist** to build predictive models that drive critical workforce and capacity decisions across HR, Operations, and Finance. Your work will enable leaders to forecast demand, optimize staffing, and plan for growth—at scale. This is an applied, production-focused role. You’ll join a fast-moving analytics team with full access to data, strong executive alignment, and a modern stack (Snowflake, dbt, Python). **What You’ll Do** + **Forecasting:** Model service demand across programs, geographies, and time horizons. + **Staffing Optimization:** Build and deploy models that align labor to real-time and projected needs. + **Workforce Planning:** Predict attrition, hiring needs, and headcount shifts to support long-term planning. + **Anomaly Detection:** Surface emerging risks and operational outliers through automated monitoring. + **Model Deployment:** Use dbt and Snowflake to build feature-ready pipelines and production scoring logic. + **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with analysts, data engineers, and business leaders to integrate models into workflows, dashboards, and planning processes. + **Lifecycle Ownership:** Monitor model performance, manage retraining cycles, and address data quality issues. + **Governance & Communication:** Document model logic, assumptions, and limitations for technical and non-technical audiences. **What We’re Looking For** + 5+ years in applied data science or ML engineering roles + Deep Python expertise (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost) + Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred) + Track record of deploying models to production environments (Snowpark, Databricks, or similar) + Experience in at least one of the following: forecasting, workforce optimization, or people analytics + Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care.
