SE Health seeks a Lead Data Scientist (Data Science and Analytics) to bridge the gap between business needs and advanced analytical solutions. This unique role combines strategic business analysis with hands-on data science leadership, requiring someone who can seamlessly transition from stakeholder workshops to Python coding sessions.

The successful candidate will own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle - from understanding complex healthcare workflows to deploying machine learning models in production. This hands-on position requires equal proficiency in stakeholder management and technical implementation, leading both the discovery of opportunities and the delivery of solutions. The scope of work includes: stakeholder management, requirements gathering, leading workshops, end-to-end Machine Learning (ML) hands-on development, data discovery and EDA, troubleshooting, deployment and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Science & Machine Learning Leadership (65%)

Hands-On Technical Development

Lead exploratory data analysis (EDA) and feature engineering effortsDesign, develop/code, and validate machine learning modelsImplement MLOps best practices for model deployment and monitoringConduct advanced statistical analysis to derive model selection and trainingModel Development: Lead end-to-end ML project development including EDA, feature engineering, model selection, training, and validationAzure ML Implementation: Design and implement ML pipelines using Azure ML, including model deployment, monitoring, and retrainingStatistical Analysis: Conduct advanced statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and model validation using appropriate methodologiesPython Expertise: Write production-quality Python code for data preprocessing, model development, and pipeline automation

ML Strategy & Architecture

Identify and help prioritize machine learning use cases across the organizationChampion adoption of predictive analytics in operations – this includes presenting results, solutions and their applicationDesign ML architectures leveraging Azure ML and TBD cloud servicesEstablish ML governance and ethical AI practicesCreate reusable ML frameworks and accelerators

Technical Team Leadership

Lead and mentor data scientists and analystsProject Management: Lead cross-functional ML projects from conception through deployment and monitoringPeer Review: Conduct technical reviews of ML models, code quality, and deployment strategiesEstablish technical standards for ML developmentOversee and Collaborate with data engineers on ML pipeline design

 

GoTool Platform Involvement

Manage and evolve the GoTool AI/MLOps platform (our in-house AI/ML platform)Ensure platform reliability and performanceDrive platform enhancements based on user needsManage quarterly model refreshes and updatesCoordinate with stakeholders on platform roadmap

Required Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

Data Science & Machine Learning (Must Have)

Expert-level Python programming (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch)Deep understanding of ML algorithms and their applications – the expectation is that the candidate has had previous experience implementing ML models in practical applicationsHands-on experience with Azure ML or similar cloud ML platformsStrong statistical knowledge and experimental designMust understand ARIMA model selection (ACF/PACF plots, stationarity testing, differencing), seasonal decomposition, and forecast validation techniques.MLOps and model lifecycle management experienceADS creation scripts (Python, Pandas, GeoPandas)
