What is the opportunity?
As Lead Data Engineer in Investor & Treasury Services Data Engineering team, you will design, implement and support Data architecture best practices and processes within Investor and Treasury Services across global organization in line with corporate vision. We are looking for strategic thinker, and passionate data management enthusiast to drive and support leadership team on executing data strategy.
As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong data architecture and data engineering skills and leadership, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times. This is complemented by a positive attitude and a willingness to take accountability for results achieved.
What will you do?
This role will encompass an end to end system view from data sourcing, lineage, transformation and storage standpoint to support complex advanced analytics and data governance needs and require extensive collaboration with Business architecture, System architecture, Business SME and Data Stewards.
Build real-time data pipelines (inbound, outbound) through container-based solutions,
Integrate data with Cloud based platforms, publish data through APIs and Portal
Participate in Data curation requirements and support Data and Digital needs of business and technology stakeholders
Evaluate current state of data access control in regards to authentication, authorization and encryption practices across I&TS systems. Develop and support remediation strategy
Work in an agile team of Data Engineers, Developers and RBC business stakeholders.
Collaborate with data scientists, process engineers and business stakeholders on requirement gathering and assist with prescriptive and predictive analytics through consolidated data pipelines
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
7+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years of hands on experience in system integration, data and cloud architecture, and technologies listed in the following section:
Data Engineering: Python, Kafka, MS SQL Server, Elasticsearch stack
Cloud and Containers: Azure (ADLS2, Azure Data bricks), Open shift, Docker
SQL/Database: Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Stored procedures
API: Node.JS, Apigee
Portal/analytics solutions: Angular
Security frameworks: LDAP, Kerberos, OAuth 2.0, Vault integration
Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
Nice to have:
Master’s degree in Computer science or equivalent experience
Automation/DevOps: Jenkins, Selenium and similar technologies
Source code control: GIT
Experience working in agile / SaFe environment
