About the role

We are seeking a Lead Data Developer to drive the design, development, and optimization of our product’s data platform built on Azure. You will lead the development of scalable data pipelines and architectures using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB, playing a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for our product and business stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Lead data engineering efforts across the product, mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks for batch and real-time data processing.Architect efficient and scalable data solutions on Azure, integrating multiple data sources.Develop, manage, and optimize data models and storage in Azure Cosmos DB (NoSQL).Implement data governance, quality, and security best practices.Collaborate closely with product, analytics, DevOps, and application teams to ensure seamless data integration.Monitor and tune the performance of pipelines, notebooks, and queries.Drive continuous improvement in development practices, performance, and cost efficiency.

Primary Skills

Strong hands-on expertise in:Azure Databricks (Spark, Python/Scala/SQL)Azure Data Factory (ADF pipelines, Linked Services, Integration Runtimes)Azure Cosmos DB (modeling, indexing, querying)Proficient in SQL, PySpark, and/or Scala for distributed data processing.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices in data projects.Knowledge of data lake architectures and Delta Lake best practices.Understanding of cloud cost management and performance tuning in Azure.Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Effective time management and organizational capabilities.Strong interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Relevant certifications in Azure and Data Engineering, such as:Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertDatabricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
