Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Research Consultant who will investigate existing types of threat actor techniques, tactics, and procedures as well as technology exploits and vulnerabilities based on cyber threat intelligence. Research will analyze these capabilities and attempt to predict their applicability in the Wells Fargo ecosystem, our detection capabilities, and our security posture is against them.

In this role, you may:

Lead initiatives including the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of the most complex computer network security and protection technologies for company information and network systems and applicationsAct as professional ethical penetration tester utilizing hacking tools to modify or create proof of concept exploits that mimic techniques of the most sophisticated attackersReview and analyze complex advanced computer security incident response activities and technical investigations of information security related incidents Identify vulnerabilities and associate those with a severity rating by deriving impact and ease of exploitInterpret cyber threat intelligence and provide feedback on likelihood of its use against the bankIdentify emerging vulnerabilities being exploited by threat actors, vet applicability to Wells Fargo environment, assess the threat to Wells Fargo, and inform the appropriate teamsConduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies and adherence to best practicesConduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies and adherence to best practicesCommunicate to the line of business on the inherent risks, providing meaningful mitigation strategiesCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goalsEngineer solutions rapidly to mitigate risk and enable security researchers or intel analysts during incidents or operations

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Cyber Security experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education3+ years of experience in network, social, and physical domains2+ Years working with MITRE ATT&CK and/or NIST frameworksDemonstrated experience leading initiatives

Desired Qualifications:

Information security experience in converged testing (red teaming)Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple prioritiesKnowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutionsKnowledge and understanding of threat analysis and assessment of potential and current information security risk/threatsExperience with Cloud and Virtualization/Containerization technologies
