Lead CSR Strategy & Reporting Manager
About the Team The Legal & Corporate Affairs team is responsible for safeguarding the company’s reputation, ensuring we are operating with integrity and in line with our strategic initiatives. The Legal team provides high-quality legal services, ensures legal compliance and mitigates risks. The Corporate Communications team works to execute strategic and effective communication efforts that drive brand awareness, preference and reputation with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the Corporate Social Responsibility & Belonging teams support the company’s environmental and social commitments with a strong focus on pets, people and the planet. The collective team supports the overall success and positive reputation of the company. About the Job Job Summary: The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy & Reporting Manager is responsible for helping to advance PetSmart’s overall CSR, sustainability and social impact priorities and reporting. This person is responsible for the collection, analysis, and management of environmental and social performance data, and supports the development of our annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report.as well as regulatory compliance reporting in partnership across teams. Beyond reporting, this person is responsible for forward-looking, data-driven improvement opportunities and working cross-functionally to support business partners in creating increased efficiency and opportunity across our enterprise. Key Responsibilities: CSR Data Strategy & Analysis (40%) Design and maintain CSR data architecture, ensuring quality, transparency, and alignment with reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) Collect, validate, and analyze environmental and social performance data across business units Develop dashboards and executive-ready insights to track progress and financial impacts, inform decisions, and guide priority-setting CSR Report Development & Regulatory Disclosure (30%) Support the development of the annual CSR report and regulatory reporting including climate risk & extended producer responsibility (EPR), and stakeholder survey response process—timeline, stakeholder input, drafting, and approvals Coordinate across Legal, Communications, Human Resources, Facilities, and other teams to build a cohesive, credible narrative Stay ahead of evolving environmental and social disclosure expectations and trends to maintain PetSmart’s leadership position Cross-Functional CSR Change Leadership (30%) Translate insights into business-driving initiates through partnership with internal teams (e.g., Facilities, Procurement, Merchandising, Human Resources, Learning & Development) Drive collaborative solutions that reduce environmental impact, enhance associate experience and engagement, and improve efficiency Support PetSmart’s regulatory compliance and brand commitments by embedding CSR priorities across teams Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university in a relevant field preferred. 5+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, CSR reporting, or data analytics in a corporate setting. GRI-certified (preferred) Proven knowledge of sustainability reporting standards (GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, etc.) and materiality assessment Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams Experience developing data systems and translating insights into cross-functional action Passion for environmental and social impact, and belief in business as a force for good About the Culture At PetSmart, we work hard to create a culture where every associate feels like they truly belong and we celebrate the unique stories, backgrounds, and experiences our associates share.
