DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Conduct financial analyses to evaluate the financial strength of corporate counterparties and identify key risks. Monitor the portfolio to ensure that internal risk ratings are accurate and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks for clients showing signs of deterioration. Collaborate with coverage bankers and product partners to develop structures that align with the client's risk profile and the assets to be financed. Work with business colleagues to assess stress or downside credit scenarios, including validating cash flow models, typically using Excel. Review and assist in negotiating transaction and trading legal documentation. Manage the ongoing risk assessment of the portfolio. Ensure a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses and maintain both current and forward-looking perspectives. Work on the residential mortgage finance and specialty finance markets, including key risks and structures. Collaborate with junior team members and product bankers to develop client-focused solutions that benefit both the client and the Firm. Lead due diligence meetings, which may be conducted virtually or at the client's location. Prepare for written credit analyses and present recommendations to senior credit officers for approval. Mentor and guide junior team members, manage workloads, delegate tasks with clear guidance, ensure deadlines are met, and escalate issues to senior managers when necessary. Lead additional projects and presentations as required. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel to JPMC and client sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Credit Officer, Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Credit Officer, Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: Underwriting mortgage originators and funds that aggregate mortgages, specialty finance consumer and commercial companies in leading credit due diligence sessions; Managing client account and portfolio including multiple client credit relationships from initial onboarding and underwriting of client's credit exposure, annual review process, covenant amendments, facility modifications, renewals, along with wind down and exit of client relationships; Designing and developing Excel and PowerPoint files with functionality including lookups and add-ons pivots; Negotiating structured finance transaction terms; Working in an investment banking group.
