Lead Counsel - Appellate and Complex Tort and Employment Litigation
Position Summary...The Lead Counsel – Appellate and Strategic Tort and Employment Litigation role is critical for developing and driving a consistent strategy across the litigation portfolio, as well as strategizing potential affirmative litigation on behalf of the company. You will collaborate with the tort and employment litigation teams to develop strategies on complex issues. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk, providing legal advice and counsel. You will also retain, manage, and collaborate closely with outside counsel to drive case strategy, review and edit court submissions, and manage legal spend.

The Walmart Litigation team consists of talented lawyers and professional staff responsible for lawsuits and arbitrations nationwide. The team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and others to evaluate risk, drive strategy, and advise clients on legal rights and obligations. What you'll do...Driving legal strategies for the company’s appellate and strategic litigation matters Providing legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders  Managing outside counsel and legal spend for appellate and strategic litigation matters  Reviewing legislative trends and significant legal decisions  Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for strategic litigation  Working with internal and external counsel to develop consistent, high-quality written work product on behalf of the company  What you’ll bring: Appellate expertise, with experience briefing and arguing appeals in state and federal courts  Experience building amicus coalitions on behalf of clients’ litigation positions  A drive to execute and to act quickly   Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders  Law degree from an accredited law school and 7+years of legal experience  Appellate clerkship with at least four years of appellate practice experience post-clerkship  License to practice law in at least one U.S. state and in good standing  The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role. The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
