Lead Clinical Analyst

Demonstrating quality and competency, will develop efficient and effective solutions to complex business problems, and will respond with equanimity in a dynamic environment. Builds analyses and reports; obtains peer or supervisor review of one's work and performs review of others' work. Will display persuasive data visualization, oral and written communication skills that can translate complex analytic findings and concepts to a varied audience of users.Provides analytical support for local health plan or business unit, in support of strategic decision making and cost efficiency.Develops/maintains subject matter expertise in data extraction and quality assurance as well as current and historical cost experience and trend drivers.Supports Actuarial and Finance leaders as needed to ensure budget and forecast accuracy.Supports key business leaders in identifying cost efficiency and quality improvement opportunities through reporting and analytics.Utilizes SQL, Excel, and other BI tools to define, extract, validate, shape, and interpret data to meet business needs. Accountable for accuracy of work product.Effectively manages analytical priorities across regular reporting, ad hoc requests, and development of ongoing strategic activities.Supports cost of care initiative tracking, savings and ROI estimates, and KPI dashboards for designated health plan or business unit.Develops effective cross-functional relationships, both within Medical Economics and across Finance, Actuarial, and other key business areas.Mentors peers and co-workers as appropriate.Provides status reports that give a detailed description of the current project's progress and indicates time devoted to each task of the project.Coordinates/mentors analytic efforts performed by in- house staff or outside consultants to ensure that all work is completed according to the project plan.Tracks and assigns ownership of project level issues. Escalates issues to the proper level of management.

Responsibilities

Experienced in an analytics environment or field (epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, healthcare, other).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to forge effective business relationships across functional groups.
Ability to effectively liaison between technical and non-technical groups.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to provide accurate estimates of work effort and deliver results within a committed time frame.
MS Suite power user; Expert level knowledge of SQL, Qlikview, Tableau or similar business intelligence tools, experience in SPSS, SAS, R, Python, MatLab or other analytic tools.
Experience working with healthcare medical claims, normalized and denormalized data structures; and will have experience manipulating data using SAS, SPSS, R, Python, SageMaker, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, SnapLogic and/or other data mining tools.
Possesses an understanding of CPT, NDC and/or GPI, ICD, revenue and billing codes is critical.
Demonstrated quality and competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to complex business problems.
Ability to build analyses and reports and display persuasive data visualization.
Effective oral and written communication skills that can translate complex analytic findings and concepts to a varied audience of users.
