Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

Develop civil and structural design from the conceptual stage through the detailed design stage, providing sustainable and efficient solutionsInvolve in the design and development of the following for greenfield and/or brownfield large oil and gas projectsEstablish design basis, technical specifications/philosophies, work scope/tender documents/narrativesReview design of plant layouts, roads, drainage systems, etc.Checking calculations, general arrangement, detail drawings, 3D models, and material take-off (MTO)Guide/review design of different types of concrete and steel structures and develop engineering calculations for: Structures like pipe racks, pipe bridges, sleepers Process structures and equipment support structures Equipment foundations such as heat exchangers, vertical and horizontal vessels/drums, columns/towers, very large tanks, spheres, etc. Dynamic load structures of compressors and pumps Equipment shelters, plant buildings like control room, substation buildings, admin blocks, site camps Blast resistance design of buildings and structures Review and interpretation of topographical and geotechnical reportsReview and design of underground services design, architectural design, modularization design, and prefabricated buildingsEnsure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS, AISC, ACI, ASCE, client specifications)Evaluate supplier/subcontractor technical bids for compliance to internal and client specifications and scopes of workReview of vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for adequacy of civil design input requirementsOptimize design solutions to meet budget constraints without compromising quality and safetyPrepare and review civil materials technical reports, method statements, vendor technical clarifications, and prepare technical bid evaluation reportsLeadership skill:Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers, serving as the primary point of contact for structural engineering mattersIdentify technical issues, define alternative solutions, establish pros and cons for multiple solutions, and make recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries and technical deviationsAllocate tasks, provide guidance, and issue clear directions to ensure effective and efficient project executionDevelop project schedules, ensure adherence to timelines and budgets, and monitor project schedules on submissions of civil deliverablesCoordinate with project/engineering managers, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutionsEnsure all deliverables' accuracy, completeness and that they comply with quality standards and specificationsDemonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and analytical skillsLead, motivate, coach, and manage a team independently, ensuring engineering competence, team building, and enhancing responsibility and ownershipStakeholder management:Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirementsManage interface meetings with clients and vendors to progress design scopesSafety and compliance:Ensure all civil and structural activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulationsPromote a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the project siteActively participate in various project workshops/reviews such as HAZID, layout reviews, 3D model reviews, and constructability reviewsQualifications

Expected:

Master's degree in structural engineering as a minimumAt least 20 years of experience in oil and gas projects design from conceptual stage to detailed design stageMinimum of 5 years' experience in lead engineer position for a major greenfield/brownfield project FEED/detailed designExperience in managing a team of 50+ engineers and designersExperienced in coordination of the satellite office teams and managing the productivity and qualityHands-on experience in industry software, such as STAAD Pro Connect Edition, Mat 3D, Foundation 3D, PROKON, 3D model review tools (SPR & Navisworks), MS Office Suite, etc.Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, multi-tasking, and flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environmentAble to communicate in English both verbally and in writing with other disciplines and multinational workforces in an effective mannerKnowledge of engineering work planning and control methodsKnowledge of inter-discipline coordinationKnowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved About the Company
