Lead Calibration Engineer – Low Voltage Infrastructure
Job Description

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, MI three times a week, at minimum.

The Role:

This position supports Electric Power System calibrations across all GM vehicles, with a focus on delivering robust and high-performing Low Voltage Infrastructure (LVI) features. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of LVI feature performance and ecosystem health status, ensuring functionality, reliability, and resilience in areas such as low voltage setpoint control, battery saver modes, and load management. This role requires initiative, technical depth, and leadership to drive institutional improvements and influence calibration strategy across platforms.

What You'll Do:

Own and lead LVI feature performance and ecosystem health status across vehicle programsCoordinate calibration planning efforts to ensure high-quality, on-time release of LVI calibration scriptsCompile and release high-quality and defect free LVI calibration scripts using tools such as CRETA, ensuring alignment with program milestonesSupport resource planning and requirement identification for calibration development activities, while facilitating story creation and ensuring seamless integration into Scrum workflows using JIRALead issue resolution efforts across vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, and customer domains, driving timely closure and long-term corrective actionsCollaborate with Technical Specialists and Subsystem Leads to align calibration strategies across vehicle lines and ensure technical coherence.Develop and optimize calibrations within Low Voltage Infrastructure, focusing on cross-program commonization and adherence to Calibration Standard WorkIdentify, diagnose, and resolve vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies through collaboration with responsible teamsApply analytical tools to develop, validate, and improve calibration qualityConduct calibration reviews to ensure consistency, robustness, and alignment with performance targetsDevelop, refine, and implement calibration procedures to support standardization and continuous improvementParticipate in development trips and test activities to support calibration validation and refinement

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline

5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in calibration engineering

Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of driving results

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate across teams

Highly motivated, tenacious, and curious individual with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement

Proficiency with industry-standard calibration and SW tools such as JIRA, INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, and MATLAB/Simulink

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Experience with data acquisition systems and advanced data analysis techniques

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills):

Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline

8+ years of post-graduation engineering experience

Four or more years of hands-on experience in calibration engineering

DFSS Black Belt Certification

Experience providing technical direction and mentorship to other engineers

Comfortable engaging with senior leadership, including Chief Engineers and Program Managers

Demonstrated ability to identify and remove roadblocks to maintain momentum and meet program goals

Experience working with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test benches

Familiarity with low voltage electric power control features and systems

Prior leadership in program-level calibration delivery or feature release.
