Join our team as a Lead Operating Engineer supporting two prestigious financial client complexes in St. Paul, MN. This hands-on position puts you at the center of building operations, where every day brings different challenges and opportunities to showcase your problem-solving abilities. You'll leverage your technical skills while leading contractors and maintaining critical building systems that thousands of professionals depend on daily.
A Day in the Life of a Lead Operating Engineer:Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues across multiple facilitiesSupervise contractors, evaluating their work quality and ensuring adherence to safety protocolsExecute preventative maintenance tasks on critical building systems to prevent costly downtimeRespond to service requests through our Corrigo system, prioritizing work for minimal disruptionAnalyze malfunctioning equipment to determine root causes and implement permanent solutionsMaintain inventory of essential tools, supplies, and parts through strategic purchasingTrain and mentor operations team members to expand their technical capabilitiesEnsure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials according to regulationsInspect building systems to identify potential issues before they become operational problemsDocument completed work, maintain service records, and create detailed repair reportsOrder parts and equipment needed for repairs, maintenance, and new installationsCollaborate with property management to ensure tenant satisfaction and building efficiencyWho We're Looking For
Required
3+ years of facilities engineering experienceHands-on experience with HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical equipmentA Universal EPA (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)Analytical problem-solving abilities to diagnose system malfunctions and implement effective solutionsProficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite applicationsExcellent customer service orientation with strong communication skillsPreferred
1+ year of trade schooling in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or refrigeration (or equivalent experience)Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management practicesPay $36-39 hourly, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift.
Estimated total compensation for this position:
75,000.00 – 80,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
