Lead Bid Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Bid Engineer to join our Ashby office who will work closely with all disciplines within the Bids and Tendering department and the wider business to ensure the delivery of high quality, consistent and winning rail signalling bids. You will be responsible for mobilising successful bids into project delivery phase and have a key focus on delivering solutions for SCADA and SISS bids, ensuring a minimal viable product and maintaining technical assurance throughout the tender process.
Bids and Tendering is a centralised team who are accountable for all bid activity across Siemens Mobility Limited ensuring governance, accuracy and alignment with winning strategies.
You’ll make a difference by
Leading the full bid lifecycle from Bid/No-Bid decision through to customer negotiation and Contract Award for bids ranging from £25k to £5MDefining and implementing winning bid strategies, including tender requirement analysis and coordination of technical estimation, risk identification, and proposal creationOwning the Engineering Assurance phase throughout the bid stagePreparing and co-ordinating engineering tender documentation, ensuring consistency, quality and risk mitigationSupporting pre and post bid negotiations, addressing all aspects of technical, financial and commercial considerationsFacilitating knowledge transfer from the tendering team to the delivery team, making sure there is scope stability and effective handoverYour success will be grounded by
Strong knowledge and preferably hands on experience with SCADA/SISS project deliveryDegree or equivalent qualification in a technical or business-related disciplineExtensive experience in influencing and negotiation across all levels of an organisationAbility to manage technical discussions with clients and stakeholdersPrior experience within Bidding (preferred)Previous experience within the Rail Industry (advantageous)You’ll benefit from
