This role supports our Lab Automation group, an ISO 9001 certified organization. Our team designs, manufactures, and installs robotic solutions globally, accelerating drug discovery and synthetic biology research for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. How you will make an impact:

As a Lead Automation Technician, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and integrating advanced mechanical and electrical assemblies, as well as standard equipment. You will be instrumental in testing automated robotic system components and ensuring the successful completion of lab automation projects. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to meet and exceed customer expectations.

What you will contribute:

Innovative Assembly: Build and integrate major subassemblies and peripheral equipment, ensuring seamless systems assembly.Quality Assurance: Conduct pre-shipping inspections of integrated robot systems to maintain high standards of quality.Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated robotic systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.Autonomous Work: Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-management and initiative.Team Collaboration: Manage team workload effectively, balancing tasks to address excesses and shortages as needed.Knowledge Sharing: Participate in peer training sessions, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable operations team.Process Improvement: Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives by suggesting improvements to processes and products, enhancing efficiency, safety, and quality.Cross-Departmental Support: Assist other departments, including documentation and quality, with product and process enhancements.Quality Control: Work with the Quality team to identify and address part defects and non-conformances.Project Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation, record-keeping, and reporting of project status.Shipping Preparation: Prepare and package robotic systems for shipment, ensuring they are ready for delivery.Customer Support: Assist the integration team with on-site installations at customer locations when required.Versatility: Embrace a variety of tasks and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.

How will you get here?

Education and Experience:

College diploma in electrical or mechanical disciplines, or related field4 years’ relevant experience in assembling mechanical and electrical assemblies

Knowledge & Skills:

Mechanically adept with blueprint reading / drawing knowledgeTroubleshooting techniquesFamiliarity with testing and measuring equipmentMechanically inclinedExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsOrganization, planning and time management skills

Valid Driver’s LicenseValid PassportAbility to Tavel 25% of the time domestically & internationally without restrictions
