Lead Architecture Designer

Permanent/Contract: Permanent role

Working Location: Qingdao, China

Job Description

Work as a lead designer for a project to supervise and lead a team consisting of designer and drafter to perform project related engineering and detailed design work. To conceive, implement, and oversee the design of Project(s) through all phases of the architectural process – from conception through turnover.  

Job Responsibilities

•    To lead and conduct technical clarification work and identify the technical issue. Participate in Client/Vendor meetings to determine project goals.

•    Identify design challenges & design opportunities, key issues, and other analysis or considerations that will have an impact on the project design.

•    Produce & maintain the project package.

•    Provide input to Lead Engineer as it relates to scope of work, 3D Modelling integration, design deliverables, & project Schedule.

•    Delegate and assign work to subordinates designers.             

•    Examine design patterns and produce associated documentation and/or analysis as necessary.

•    Lead the design work and supervise the team to produce design deliverables per defined project schedules.

•    Collaborate & coordinate with other designers/team members as necessary, to convey design goals, design concepts, and to ensure production of the necessary design deliverables per the project schedule  

•    Lead and supervise the designer team to coordinate to respond to site query and preparation of necessary documentation.

•    Review and collaborate design feedback during the production of design development documents and coordinate with the designer team and execute necessary actions.

•    Perform design reviews of project progress documents.

•    Participate in periodic construction site visits to observe construction progress, proactively identify potential design issues, and/or assist with the resolution of design issues that arise.

•    Perform work assigned or delegate by lead-engineer.

Job Requirement

•    Degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture or related field.

•    810 years of experience in architecture or related field.

•    Experience with advanced architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Navis, & E3D.

•    An accredited architectural degree or equivalent experience. Training in Design software.

•    Exposure with EHOUSE and Offshore accommodation such as Living Quarters (LQ), Control Rooms, Utility Building, Technical Building and other onshore project like Refinery, Power Plants ect.

•    Good command of English (Oral and written) and MS Office Suite application.
