This role requires on-site presence at Asda House in Leeds for at least three days per week. We’re really looking forward to having you around!

As a senior member across one or more Data product squads, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering high-quality, trusted data products that enable Asda’s strategic priorities. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Architects, and a wide range of business stakeholders to drive the adoption of data-led decision making across the organisation.

You will be instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable insights, advocating for robust data quality, and helping to build scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions that empower teams to make smarter, faster decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact initiatives, influence data strategy, and play a central role in fostering a data-first culture across Asda.

What You’ll Be DoingActing as a strategic partner to business stakeholders, capturing and translating data requirements into scalable analytics and reporting solutions. Leading the analysis and documentation of end-to-end data flows, identifying data quality issues, and driving resolution in collaboration with governance and engineering teams. Working closely with Data Engineers and Architects to shape technical designs, ensuring alignment with business needs and enterprise data models. Owning the development and maintenance of key artefacts, including source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and design documentation. Providing expert validation and assurance of data products throughout the development lifecycle to ensure accuracy and business value. Driving the adoption of self-service BI tools, enabling and empowering business users to derive insights independently. Supporting the Data Product Management team in aligning product roadmaps with business priorities and strategic objectives. Contributing to the design of scalable data models that underpin efficient, future-proof reporting and analytical solutions. Leading and participating in Agile ceremonies, championing best practice delivery and cross-functional collaboration. Partnering with the Data Governance function to uphold and enhance data quality, integrity, and compliance across your domain. Proactively identifying opportunities to optimise data processes, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to the advancement of Asda’s data strategy. Guiding and coaching junior data analysts to support their skills and career development within Asda. What You’ll BringExtensive experience in data analysis and solution delivery, with a proven ability to generate meaningful insight and business impact. Strong proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience using modern data platforms such as Databricks. Solid understanding of data architecture, relational databases, and enterprise data models. Experience working with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, and advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and communicate insight clearly. Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences. In-depth experience working within Agile delivery frameworks, with a collaborative and solution-focused approach. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and engage at all levels. A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for innovation, data excellence, and enabling a data-driven culture. This position is open to flexible working / job share / part time working.
