The Lead Janitor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of a facility, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and well-maintained environment. This role includes supervising janitorial staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, inspecting work quality, and performing hands-on cleaning duties. The Lead Janitor serves as the point of contact for cleaning-related issues and supports the team in achieving high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of janitorial staff. Assign tasks and monitor completion to ensure quality standards are met. Train new janitors on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use. Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal. Inspect facilities regularly and report maintenance needs or safety hazards. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request replenishments as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Respond to urgent cleaning needs or special requests. Communicate effectively with building management and other departments. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), ten-year work history if available Preferred Qualifications Customer Service Experience One year of lead or supervisory experience
