Job Description

Standard Bank uses both in-house and vendor solutions in the Corporate and Investment division. The purpose of the job is to perform the role of a Technical Lead for the Murex Production BSD team. Murex being a vendor system and one of the Bank’s strategic trading and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) platforms, with the Murex Production BSD team enabling and supporting Front to Back global Markets capacities and solutions across multiple instances and asset classes

The role entails overall design oversight and technical ownership of the Murex Production platforms, establishing standards, best practice, and ensuring optimal technical performance of the platforms as well as upskilling and coaching the team to improve engineering capabilities. In addition to the oversight and IT management responsibilities, the role also requires hands-on technical delivery, support, and advisory to business stakeholder demand and Murex programme initiatives, with expected expertise across asset classes and end-to-end solution phases (scope, analyze, plan, design, dev, test, operate)

QualificationsPost Graduate Degree: Information Technology (Min)

Additional Information

Experience Required: Software Engineering

More than 10 years: Broad experience in translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications and developing the programming code to create the solutions

More than 10 years: Proven ability to work effectively as both a team leader and as a member of a small team of technical staff working in an agile development environment. Track record in capability and competency building and coaching of staff is required. Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a manager running a portfolio of 20+ technical experts
