Job Responsibilities:

Objectives of the Job:

The core objective of this position is to manage an engineering team of D&C, Doors and Closures, to work on vehicle development projects.Group leader sets up the team, monitors team dynamic in project execution to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery, and ultimately to meet customer satisfaction.Group leader builds and improves technical competence for the line organization and ensures know-how transfer to employees by means of mentoring and training.

Main Duties:

Set group strategy for D&C in-line with company and department goals.Support the quotation for business acquisition.Set-up project teams and assign project tasks to team members for proper project execution.Oversee project execution for in-time and high-quality delivery, make organization adjustment if necessary.Build and maintain a technical-advanced functional team of D&C.Manage group operations for group members, including recruiting, goal setting, attendance, disciplinary behavior, retention, performance review, etc.Lead D&C projects per Department Manager request.Build and maintain D&C database for organizational competitiveness.Support the building and maintenance of customer relationships.Educate and foster a culture that in-line with Magna Core Value.Request support from Department Manager to put in-place disciplinary actions if required.Perform other engineering tasks as required by Department Manager.

Qualification:

Degree in Automotive engineering, Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering, etc.Candidate should have ten or more years of D&C engineering and development experience.Candidate should have three or more years of D&C engineering team management experiences.Proficient in oral and written English. German is a plus.Proficient in CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office suite. NX is a plus.Deep understanding of VW/Audi process and tools.Good understanding of vehicle design and development processes, work content, and deliverables at each phase of the development lifecycle in an OEM set-up.Broad understanding of vehicle engineering topics (e.g., mechanics, mechatronic, material, strength and stiffness, durability)Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, molding and other fabrication methods, welding and other joining methods, painting, and general assembling)General understanding of quality management and quality tools.General understanding of vehicle engineering organization (e.g., vehicle architecture, complete vehicle, body, trim, chassis, E/E) and its upstream and downstream partners (e.g., marketing, styling, purchase, quality, logistics, aftermarket, plant)Deep understanding of project management principles and best practices.Advanced soft skills in communication, leadership, conflict resolution, moderation, and presentation.Person of integrity who recognizes and practices the values of: Think big, Take responsibility, Never settle, and Be collaborative.Be able to travel domestically and abroad.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
