Job Summary

KBR is seeking a mission-driven Project Manager to lead and coordinate the execution of base operations support, logistics, infrastructure, and construction-related projects. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience managing Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and a thorough understanding of federal project requirements, safety protocols, and compliance standards.

As the primary point of contact for assigned projects, this individual will be responsible for ensuring all efforts are completed on time, within scope, on budget, and in full compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.

This role involves managing a broad portfolio of mission-critical projects—including infrastructure upgrades, logistics operations, maintenance activities, and construction efforts. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of project execution, from planning and scheduling to quality assurance and closeout, while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and accountability.   In addition, this individual will oversee subcontractors ammunition logistics, storage, and handling procedures to ensure compliance with stringent safety regulations and operational requirements.  This dual role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to enforce both life support operations and rigorous safety standards associated with ammunition operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in federal project management, specifically within the DoD environment, and demonstrate proven leadership in managing complex projects in remote or high-security settings.

Position Overview: 

KBR is seeking a mission-driven Project Manager to lead and coordinate the execution of base operations support, logistics, infrastructure, and construction-related projects located at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Hawthorne, NV. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience managing Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and a thorough understanding of federal project requirements, safety protocols, and compliance standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As the primary point of contact for assigned projects, this individual will be responsible for ensuring all efforts are completed on time, within scope, on budget, and in full compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.

This role involves managing a broad portfolio of mission-critical projects—including infrastructure upgrades, logistics operations, maintenance activities, and construction efforts.

The Project Manager will oversee all phases of project execution, from planning and scheduling to quality assurance and closeout, while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and accountability.   

This individual will oversee subcontractors’ ammunition logistics, storage, and handling procedures to ensure compliance with stringent safety regulations and operational requirements.  

Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities across multiple disciplines including construction, maintenance, environmental services, and logistics.

Serve as the primary liaison between government stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans in alignment with contract terms.

Monitor project performance through KPIs and earned value management metrics; report progress to senior leadership and government customers.

Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental compliance, and quality control standards.

Manage subcontractor performance, including coordination, contract compliance, and timely deliverables.

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with team leads and client representatives.

Oversee procurement and material delivery schedules in accordance with project timelines.

Support proposal development and pricing efforts for task order responses or contract modifications.

Participate in base-wide strategic planning initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Applicable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Strong track record in federal project management, specifically within the DoD environment, and demonstrate proven leadership in managing complex projects in remote or high-security settings.

Ability to enforce both life support operations and rigorous safety standards associated with ammunition operations.

Education: High School degree with a Bachelor’s degree a preferred but not required Qualifications.

Minimum 5–7 years of project management experience in federal/DoD environments.

Experience managing cost-reimbursable or firm-fixed-price contracts for the U.S. Army or similar agency.

Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams in remote or austere environments.

Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling tools

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and relevant DoD project delivery standards

Familiarity with base operations support services (BOSS), MILCON, or sustainment-related projects

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Security clearance and maintain it for the duration of your employment on this contract. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.

Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI.

Minimum 5–7 years of project management experience in federal/DoD environments.

Experience managing cost-reimbursable or firm-fixed-price contracts for the U.S. Army or similar agency.

Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams in remote or austere environments.

Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling tools

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and relevant DoD project delivery standards

Familiarity with base operations support services (BOSS), MILCON, or sustainment-related projects

Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Ability to work on-site in a high-security, remote government facility

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.

Prior work experience at an Army Depot, ammunition plant, or munitions-related facility

Experience with performance-based logistics or munitions lifecycle management projects
